A Poem seen in a bar at a Hotel

A Drinker’s prayer

Bless this bar O Lord we pray

Keep it open night and day

Bless the spirits bless the beer

O Lord they’re getting awful dear

Bless the rum and bless the coke

Give us credit when we’re broke

Bless the whisky bless the soda

Help us all to try stay sober

Bless the vodka bless the gin

Bless the glass we drink it in

Bless the lager bless the brandy

Keep the toilets nice and handy

Last of all O Lord we pray at

the end of the drinking day

when it’s too much for our poor heads

help us stagger to our beds.

See us safely through the night

to rise next morning nice and bright

To go to work quite calm and sane

So next day we can drink again.
